Lightfoot & Sons wines are made exclusively from grapes grown by the Lightfoot family on the “Myrtle-Point Vineyard” in the Gippsland Lakes District.
Located in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, the Gippsland Lakes District provides a cool climate, which when combined with the much admired Terra Rosa soil creates the perfect viticulture conditions for producing premium wines.
Our single vineyard wines all demonstrate the unique elegant character and refined style of classic cool climate regions.

The Wines
Our single vineyard wines all demonstrate the unique elegent character and refined style of classic cool climate regions.
In order to maximize the quality of the grapes, cropping levels have been limited at approximately two tonnes per acre. As a result the fruit is of a very high quality showing great depth and character which is evident in the quality of the finished wines.
At the Inaugural Gippsland wine show, the panel of judges, led by James Halliday, awarded best Shiraz and best Cabernet Sauvignon to the 2004 wines from Myrtle Point Vineyard. The Shiraz was also awarded best red wine in show out of 109 entrants.
